These terms describe baseline use of Opsidian. Customer order forms, enterprise agreements, and data protection terms control where they apply.

Use of the platform

  • Users must access Opsidian through authorized accounts and keep credentials, MFA factors, and tenant invitations secure.
  • Customers are responsible for the legality, accuracy, and authorization of the investigation content they upload or create.
  • Opsidian may suspend access when needed to prevent abuse, protect the service, comply with law, or address material non-payment.

Customer content

Customers retain ownership of their content. Opsidian receives the rights needed to host, process, secure, transmit, back up, and support that content as part of the service.

Confidentiality

Both parties should protect non-public information using reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. Sensitive investigation data should be shared only with authorized users.

Availability and changes

Opsidian may update features, controls, and infrastructure to improve security, reliability, and product quality. Material changes that reduce contracted functionality should be handled through the applicable customer agreement.

Disclaimers

Opsidian helps teams organize evidence, sources, and decisions. It does not replace professional judgment, legal advice, or independent verification of investigative conclusions.
